The sleepover rating. Second-rate family/kiddy comedy barely hangs by a thread by virtue of the two girls. The premise of the plot is sound and it affords many coherent and cool narratives. I don't see why the writers decided to choose the idiotic instead.
As for the cast, Sadie Stanly turns out to be star in every shot (which might be premeditated by marketing suits, or other powers) and Cree Cicchino does a terrific job as her sidekick. Everything else pales in comparison. Specially the husband (over the top all the way) and the kid brother, who never manages to deliver a convincing line. I get it: casting directors saw the resemblance with the "home-alone kid. But he just doesn't have the knack for it.
Anyway, I guess it makes good entertainment for 7 year-olds and below.
